Q Where do you travel to?
A Justine
travels throughout Devon, however there is a charge of 30p
per mile for distances further than a 15 miles from Crediton.
Q
Do you offer evening appointments?
A Yes,
Justine understands that due to work etc sometimes the only
chance you get to have a little pampering is in the evening.
Evening appointments are very popular so please book early
to avoid disappointment.
Q
Are you available at the weekends?
A Justine
works Saturdays, however she is often busy with wedding
bookings until the afternoon. Sunday appointments are only
available for large bookings such as weddings or pamper
parties.
Q Will the spray
tan make a mess in my home?
A The
spray tan is applied in a specialised pop up tent, this
stops any solution escaping. Justine will make sure every
care is taken when applying spray tans.
Q Do I need to
supply anything for you when you arrive?
A Justine
will bring everything she needs for the treatments you have
booked, all you need to provide is enough space for her
to work in.
Q Which is better gel or acrylic
nail extensions?
A Gel and acrylic nails
have very similar results. They can lengthen short nails,
strengthen nails, and make your hands look how you’d
like them to.
Both gel and acrylic nails have their
advantages. The same method of preparing the natural nail
is used but the application is different. Both need to be
infilled every 2 weeks or so. Opinions on which is stronger
differ from person to person. Acrylics are very durable and
not very flexible, whereas gel nails are slightly less stronger
and more flexible. One advantage of gel applications is that
they are odourless whereas the acrylic smell can be overwhelming
for some. Acrylic nails can be soaked off in acetone,
most gels need to be filed off by a professional. If you are
still unsure which is best for you then contact Justine for
more details.
Q Do nail extensions ruin
you natural nails?
A If nail enhancements
are applied by a professional who is fully qualified and
experienced then your natural nails should not be damaged,
major damage can be caused if an inexperienced nail technician
files away too much of your natural nail plate or by clients
picking or biting them off themselves rather than have them
removed by a professional.. If you are careful with your
nails, follow the recommended after care and apply good
cuticle oil then your nails will be healthy underneath the
enhancement.
Wedding
Make up
Q I am very good
at applying my own make up, why shouldn’t I do my
make up myself on the day?
A This
is such an important day and you are likely to feel very
nervous and it’s not easy applying make up with shaky
hands, allow Justine to take away some of the stress so
you can have a few minutes to relax and be pampered on your
special day.
Q
Why do I need a trial-run?
A It's important to see how your make-up will
look and also react with your skin. the trial lasts between
1-2 hours, you are able to discuss your requirements with
Justine and try out ideas to match your wedding theme.
Q When should I
book my wedding make up?
A Due
to volume of enquiries, it is wise to book as soon as possible,
bookings can be taken up to a year ahead.
Q How soon before the wedding
should I book a trial-run?
A Trials
are usually held 3-4 months before the wedding day, but
can be sooner or later if desired.
Q Which cosmetics
do you use?
A Justine prefers to use a selection of
cosmetic brands that have been tried and tested for their
durability & finish. These include Airbase, M.A.C, BeneFit,
RCMA, MUD, Este lauder, Boots N0 7, Christian Dior, Yaby,
Laura Mercier, and many more. If you have sensitive skin
or have experienced problems with any of the cosmetics listed
above, please inform Justine
Q Should
my make up be done after my hair is styled?
A Yes, it is best to have your make up applied
last so it still looks fresh.
Q How
can I secure my wedding date in your diary?
A You can secure a date in the diary by sending
a £30 booking fee. (Please note this is non-refundable)
sorry, but dates cannot be held open without a
payment of the booking fee.
Q
When should I pay the final balance?
A The
balance is payable anytime prior to or on your wedding day
by cash or cheque. Credit card payments cannot be taken.
Q What
if I decide to cancel my booking?
A You must notify Finishing Touch of a cancellation
in writing AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please note that the booking
fee is non-refundable or transferable in the event of cancellation.
Q How long does
it take to do my make up on the day?
A It varies but on average it takes about
40mins for the bride and thirty minutes per person for the
bridal party.
Q What if I need
to re-touch my make up during the day?
A Your make up has been applied to last
all day, however you may need to purchase some blotting
sheets to absorb any oils on the skin and it is a good idea
to buy the same lip colour that Justine applies to you as
after eating, drinking, and greeting people you will more
than likely need to re apply your lip colour.
Q What if you are
ill on my wedding day?
A In this unlikely event every step would
be taken to find another make up artist to assist you. If
this was not possible, you would be given a full refund.
